In the last couple of weeks I've been putting the Wild Culture press materials in order, and tieing them to a brief history of the Society for the Preservation of Wild Culture. In the process I've tussled with that old buggaboo that nagged and perversely delighted us in the days when we produced the magazine — what is Wild Culture, exactly? Here's a stab at a concise definition.
Wild Culture is the articulated ecotone between nature and society.
(An ecotone is the transition zone between two ecosystems, i.e., between a forest and a desert.)
